An unnamed English judge
The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (commonly known as the United Kingdom, the UK, Great Britain, or Britain) is a sovereign state located off the northwestern coast of continental Europe. It is an island country, spanning an archipelago including Great Britain, the northeastern part of Ireland, and many small islands. Northern Ireland is the only part of the UK with a land border, sharing it with the Republic of Ireland. Apart from this land border, the UK is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, the North Sea, the English Channel and the Irish Sea. The largest island, Great Britain, is linked to France by the Channel Tunnel.
The United Kingdom is a constitutional monarchy and unitary state consisting of four countries: England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales. The capital of the UK is London, although each constituent country also has its own capital (e.g., Edinburgh for Scotland).
The UK is one of the member states of Interpol.

At the beginning of the 20th century, the United Kingdom was nearing the end of the Victorian era, but was still a global superpower known as the British Empire, with colonies all over the world. British citizens encountered by Ryūnosuke Naruhodō and Susato Mikotoba would often remark to them about the empire's greatness, including Hart Vortex, Barok van Zieks, and Jezail Brett, with Vortex listing plumbing and sewage, railways, water, gas power, and telecommunication lines as examples. However, the upshot of this was that many English citizens viewed inhabitants of other nations as inferior, including the Japanese, and thus Naruhodō and Mikotoba had to deal with much racial animus towards them during their time in England.
Sherlock Holmes was one notable inhabitant of London during this time.
Mimi Miney's carEdit
- Main article: Reunion, and Turnabout
The car that killed Ini Miney and badly scarred her sister Mimi was a special model that had been imported from the UK. British cars have the driver's seat on the opposite side of those in America, as their steering wheels are on the right hand side as opposed to the left. This fact proved to be a vital piece of evidence for Phoenix Wright when Maya Fey was accused of murder for the second time.

A foreign trialEdit
A mysterious townEdit
Despite the localization for Phoenix Wright: Justice For All referring to her car as being a UK model (to accurately maintain the door side dilemma), the vehicle shown in the cinematics is actually an American-made 1969 Camaro SS. The Japanese version of the game correctly identifies the car as American.
