Noriyuki Iwadare (岩垂徳行 Iwadare Noriyuki) is a Japanese video game composer whose works have included the soundtracks of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Trials and Tribulations, Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth, Gyakuten Kenji 2, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies, and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Spirit of Justice. He recorded some of the instrumentation for the soundtracks of Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice, while delegating some of the other instrumentation to other staff, such as Yasufumi Fukuda. He has named the mandolin melody in "Dance of Devotion" as an example of a part that he recorded himself.[1]
Iwadare does not know many details of the games when composing the music aside from some basic things about the characters,[2] such as descriptions and concept art.[1] He usually gets ideas for music tracks while taking walks outside with his dog. He only works on his music at night.[1]
When he was first joined the development team with Trials and Tribulations, he struggled to figure out what the melodies were in the previous games' soundtracks.[1]
