A photograph of Misty Fey appeared as evidence in two of Phoenix Wright's early cases: Maya Fey's trial for the murder of Mia Fey and Miles Edgeworth's trial for the murder of Robert Hammond.
Mia Fey's murder[]

Wright found the photograph in Grossberg Law Offices alongside a photograph of Redd White while reading the DL-6 Case File. White's proved more useful as the bellboy saw him in the hotel with April May.
If Wright presented it to Maya in the detention center, she expressed sadness over not seeing her mother in a long time.
Hammond's murder[]

The photograph appeared again during the investigation into Robert Hammond's murder when Marvin Grossberg gave it to Wright. He told him to show it to Edgeworth so that he would explain everything that happened in the DL-6 Incident. After doing so, Edgeworth noted that he went very quickly with his investigation and asked Wright to represent him.
