Casper Sly was a private investigator who was also known as G.I. Sly (with the initials standing for "ghost-like and inconsolable"). He was murdered during his investigation into a cult known as the Great Tengu Society.

At some point before his murder, Sly visited the Society in attempt to interogate Princess Tengu. However, Power Tengu shooed him away and ended up shoving Sly to the ground. The fall injured Sly's right leg, hence the cast he is seen in throughout the case.
